Out of the norm Post...SIX FLAGS!!

I was looking back on my blog the other day and I was shocked..SHOCKED that I had not posted a single time about any Six Flags trips last season. It's not like I didn't have pictures, I do and a lot of them, so why did I not post?? And then, I remembered I was going to make a big, long post that included some of our favorite pictures and the friends we went to Six Flags with. Nathan bought the boys and I season passes so we had something fun to go to all summer long and on Saturday's while he was at school. He is so good to us!!! Clayton and Hayden thought it was sooooo cool that they had their own ID cards with their pictures on it! Nate did get to use some free family and friends passes from our booklets we were given for the year so there were times that he was able to get some fun in with us, but other then that it was the boys and I soakin up all the FUN in the HOT HOT sun!!

So as I sit here looking out window as it snows at the end of March UGH... I decide to go out of the normal timeline and put together that big, long post hoping for some warmer weather to come our way and for the next Six Flags Season to start!!

Simple Projects

Here are a few projects I worked on recently. Matching ties for my little men, and a simple skirt. I am currently the 1st counselor in our YW and we had a mother/daughter personal progress night where we helped the YW make a skirt for themselves. It was a great turn out with lots of inactive members and nonmember participating in the activity for the night! Our ward held an "Invitation Sunday" last week and we encouraged the girls to wear their new skirts that they worked on. We, (my good friend Carli aka YW Pres and I) promised the girls that we would make skirts too and wear them on that special Sunday. Invitation Sunday is a day our stake has each ward invite family, friends, and neighbors to come worship with us and see what The Church of Jesus Christ is all about. Our ward also held a potluck afterward which helped with our turn out I'm sure, I mean who doesn't love food!
The tie pattern is from a friend of Carli's which you can find here. Here is the Link that you can find the instructions for the skirt. It is for an Elastic Waist Skirt from Freshly Picked!!
I had my friends Liz and Carli come over to have a sewing day together. It was alot of fun. Us ladies trying to figure out what we are doing, kids running around playing, phone calls, a diaper change, few spills, and a kid picnic on the floor of my kitchen... thats my kind of get together!! We will definetly have to find more projects to do!

What Cute pies!!

2011 Kid's Expo

Check out this DRAGON FACE!! Seriously this has to be the coolest face painting I have ever seen. Hayden loved making the dragon open and close its mouth each time he said RAAAAHHHH!!! Hayden would go around moving his mouth up and down saying Chomp Chomp Chomp!! Too fun!

Our friend Miss Hayden Woodland was able to get a beautiful butterfly complete with sparkling glitter everywhere!
The Kid's Expo was super fun. Lego Spongebob was really funny for the kids to see. Even Justin said "Mom!! SPONGEBOB!" The Monkey and man in a cage is just such a funny costume I had to take a picture. I didn't quite capture how he was all hunched over and his silly walk though. We got our bags full of paperwork to go home and throw away. A few samples to try and we were also entertained by the Chicago Sky, Fly Kids who performed acrobat stunts. Clay and Hayden were mesmerized with all their back flips, front flips, daring jumps, trick jump rope skills , and pyramid towers. Seriously so cool to watch!

Justin was all about the animals at the petting zoo. He would touch them, then laugh, and try to pick them up. His favorite was the turtle at the reptile exhibit where he actually could hold him.

The kids were able to dig for gold at the wild west booth. Clay tried Rock Climbing, but said it was a little hard finding a good stepping places for his feet. The pedal with your arms train cars were also fun.
The Reptile exhibit was a hit!! Our group of friends and the kids stayed there for a while playing with all the turtles, seeing the huge Python, and Clay was frozen still with the lizard placed on him. So glad we were able to have a fun day with all kiddos and friends!!

The Many Faces of Hayden

Hayden is such a character. Unlike Clay who likes his pictures taken and will hold still and try different poses for me, Hayden doesn't hold still and comes alive with being goofy, shy, crazy, silly, and laughable all at once.
He is such a smart kid and picks up on things really easily. He is able to do things fast which is good, but at the same time he becomes bored once he has completed his task at hand, like his workbook pages, and tries other things such as cutting confetti for me out of his paper. He is doing well on his sight words and will yell them out when he sees them while we are out running errands around town. He has such energy that wears me out at times but that's OK. He has a strong love for Super Mario Bros right now, and it has it's own super powers in getting Hayden to do certain things for me when no playing time is on the line! He is a stubborn one, but his weakness is being tickled and we can get a smile out of him everytime! We call him our little chef because he loves to help me in the kitchen. He is my go to helper with stirring and adding ingredients for meals and desserts.

Such a handsome little man he is. What can we say we love our HAYDEN ALEXANDER COTTRELL!!!!!
