Love

I love my Mother-in-law!!  Do you see this beautiful blanket we are all cuddled up in?  She made it!  Just for us and just because!  We received a box in the mail stuffed with this blanket and a stack of matching wash cloths and hot pads with a note that said "Just because I Love you"!  She even made the wash cloths and hot pads out of my wedding colors, the light green and purple like you would find in my favorite flower hydrangea, which was also present at my wedding!

The boys love this blanket and on our family movie night they take turns on who gets to be all wrapped up it it!! My mother-in-law is the greatest and I am so thankful for her!

Cuties

While my older two boys are at school, I get to hang out with these two cuties!  Nothing better in the world.

There is always enough snow to play around in Illinois!  Nothing better than making your own sled hill and getting your Uncle Scott to build it up even more with his snow plow!

Blue and Gold 2013

This was the theme for our
Scouts 2013 Blue and Gold Banquet!
February 2013
In January the theme for our scouts was Being Positive.  So to go along with that we made our Blue and Gold Banquet all about:
"Doing Your Best"
"Don't be an Angry Bird, Give it your Best Shot"
The "best shot" phrase made all the scouts get excited because at the end of the dinner they each were able to try our a catapult that one of my scouts and his dad had made for the event.  The boys had a "ball" gauging how far to  place the catapult to knock down our tower of piggies!

Each table had one of the characters of the angry birds made out of colored balloons and a printed picture of the birds typed to each side.  The balloons were attached to a party balloon stick that was taped around a soup can in order for it to stay standing up.  The soup cans were then placed in colored bags with tissue paper.  Each table had a square tissue paper place on it, with small cut out pictures of the birds decorating the table as confetti then the balloon center piece was placed in the middle of the table.

This is a poster I made for the backdrop of our awards ceremony.  Each boy was also given a angry bird favor that was giant blue gumballs to represent "Bird Eggs"

For the dinner we ask families to bring their favorite pasta dish; macaroni and cheese, lasagna, or spaghetti all things a little birdie would love, and the pack provided the salad, rolls, and a big Angry Bird Cake with "Do Your Best Pack 274" on it!
The Scouts really had fun using the catapult!  Thanks again to the McLane family for such a great addition to our Angry Bird Blue and Gold Banquet.  I love spending time with these scouts and seeing their excitement while we pass off achievements and see them progress through the scouting program.  I am thankful for the families of our scouts and the support they give to Pack 274!
