SHIPSHEWANA TRIP
I have found a new tradition! Going to Shipshewana, Indiana each year!!
HOME OF THE WORLD FAMOUS SHIPSHEWANA AUCTION & FLEA MARKET
On Tuesday Diana (Mom-in-law) Kristy (sis-in-law), Marci and Sally (good friends of family) took a road trip and headed out to the biggest Flea Market sale I have ever seen. Each year from the first of May through the end of October, you can find hundreds of vendors selling everything from fresh fruit to handcrafted furniture at the Shipshewana Flea Market. I think the actual count of vendors was 1100 this year!! So many things to look at and if you like something but want to see if another treasure will top it, you better mark it was on your map so you can find the booth again later. A little tip from us that learned that the hard way and went searching out for our lost booths.
A very good friend of mine Anna Marks took my two boys of the day. She is the best and is so willing to help me out. The boys had so much fun with her kids playing outside all day. Hats off the Nathan too!! What a good hubby, who would drive 25 minutes in the wrong direction to drop of kids at 7:00 am just to turn around and have over an hour drive to get to work! And he did it again after work to pick kids up too, just so I could have a fun girls day out!! Thanks babe, you're so good to me!
Here are a few treasure I found and if I remember right all of it cost less than $60!! Now if you count the awesome fresh snacks and drinks we had and a stop at Crackle Barrel for dinner the number changes a little but all of it was well worth the money!!
The town was so fun with a simple feel to things with the amish around sharing their talents with all the fresh products that they make. I really like seeing all the horse and buggy carts going here and there taking various amish families around.

Say What MOM?
Has anyone had this conversation yet?
Clay: "Mom my cookie says pizza on it. See P I Z Z A I . That is how it's spelled."
Me: "No that is not the letter I at the end it is an exclamation point, it means you really are excited when you say PIZZA!"
"It is the letter i mom, see you turn it like this and it has a dot on top just like the letter i."
"Yeah it does look like the letter i upside down but that is the wrong way to look at it, an exclamation point is just a type of punctuation mark.
"What you say mom? Punch what mark? "
"No not really punch something just to end a sentence."
"A sentence? No mom it's just a cookie"
"Yeah your right it's just a cookie can you please eat it now!"
So this is probably a shortened version because I swear it went on forever and I was never right! By the end I wished the girl at Little Ceasars didn't think Clayton was so cute and offered him a free cookie bag. But honestly if I saw someone that cute acting so grown up like by giving our family order by himself I would probably spring out some free cookies too!

Thanks DAD
It is very hard to sit here and think of the perfect way to describe my Dad and the things he has done for me. If I were to put it in list form it definitely be WAY TOO LONG and if it was put into a poem my Dad would probably be too embarrassed and think that I was cheesy, beside that fact that I can't write poems. So in a way I can express that MY DAD IS THE BEST here goes.
Dad is all about family and does what ever he can in his power to make sure everyone has a good time and get to experience new things. There are countless trips that we went on and still do with our family. There was always some fun exhibit or adventure that Dad made sure we had our turn experiencing. He is a very generous, caring person and doesn't think he is too important to help out watching kids or doing the little things in life. He always sees the best and bright sides of any giving situation and will point out little facts about nature or trivia to all his grand kids and they all marvel at his knowledge and abilities.
Having both sides of my extended family live within ten minutes of each we were very fortunate to get together on numerous occasions. But since we did get together so often there would be times when us bratty kids or stubborn teenagers would be sulking being consumed in our own self pity to be very good host to family that came by. Bad manners were something Dad wouldn't let slide. I can hear him say "Buck up, get over yourself and be part of the family!" And of course making sure to make our own statement we would drag our feet and act so put upon by being talked to. But in reality when we did "Get over ourselves" we always had a great time, and who wouldn't want to spend time with all of my family, they are awesome. I blame those times on again bratty kids and stubborn teenage years.
My dad is the hardest worker I know. Being a farmer and rancher he is one of those manly men who do tons of physical work and has to fight against weather all the time. Some of his contenders have been: Raging wind, Snow storms, freezing temps, rain/dust storms, flooding, draught, hail and many other crazy Idaho weather schemes that come his way. But still he wakes up with the sun, whistling down the hall and making the most of his day. A favorite memory of him is when he would come running in my bedroom, jump on top of me and say "Rise and shine, it's time to get up" and this is after he has already been outside and is done feeding all the cattle and checked water. He has shown me the value of good hard work and to put yourself to the task no matter what the circumstances are.
DAD is very conscience of the people around him and their needs. In the winter time when all the snow is drifted over the road and kids have the day out of school he is in his tractor plowing out driveways of everyone on his road and many more people in the ward. He has giving much of his own time and resources to help family and those in need and it is usually done by some sort of manually labor on his part.
My Dad has taught me to put yourself aside and do things for others. He is always in the service of others and many look to him for council and guidance. I am always reminded of him when I sing "Put your shoulder to the wheel push along."
Thanks Dad for your great example and doing the things that count in life. I love you and hope I can make you as proud of me and my family as I am to be your daughter!! Love your Lacey Fay

TORNADO WARNINGS!!
Picture this:
Me waking up at 1:00 am , looking out my bathroom window in the dark and listening to the raging wind outside. Straining to see if my flower pots and patio set were still intact. Watching all the flashes of lightning and being really surprised when I barely count to one before I hear thunder. Then...
"Hey?"
I seriously jumped and practically started panic breathing as I turned to see Nate. He was dead asleep when I woke up. He has some crazy power of scaring people even when its not intentional. You never hear any footsteps or the door being pushed open or anything just an quiet eerie "Hey?"
Nate thinks I'm the one who is crazy. He said "Settle down, honestly who else would it be?"
After the initial surprise shock wears away Nate and I both hear the emergency sirens going off outside. This we are not surprised at because the wind is really blowing outside, and we head to the basement. With Clayton and Hayden still asleep in our arms we get to our basement and turn the Weather Channel on. Severe Thunderstorm warning and a Tornado warning are in effect. There is a big difference between Watches and WARNINGS. WARNING meaning an actually tornado has been spotted in our county. The warnings lasts for the next two hours and I made our queen air mattress up for the boys to go back to sleep on.
No, we had no damage well, except for my back trying to sleep all night downstairs with two boys who tend to sleep spread eagle style with breathing problems (loud separate snoring). After the warnings were over Nathan went back upstairs, but I didn't want to move the boys and have them waking up scared because they were in the dark basement and wouldn't remember getting there, hence the night on the air mattress with them. The two of them at the top of the bed and me curled in a ball on the other end. Please no more WARNINGS for us!!

Bath Time Peace...Please!
So needless to say I hurried (at least I wanted it to be hurried) and made another bath towel for my boys. Mainly to give peace to myself and between the two crazy boys. On a previous post you can see I made a "Frog Towel"for Hayden, because he liked acting like one hopping around, and me hoping he would go through all his energy, which we all know he has tons of. But, every bath time came around it was yells and screams for Ribbit, Ribbit with Hayden's arms stretch out to make sure he was the lucky one to wear it. Then, Clay would wait all dripping wet, walking naked to his room, standing there shaking until I got Hayden's diaper on and he could "steal" the towel away. I had to find a solution, so our "Bear Towel" was created. Ahh peace!!
Clay is totally bending his head down here!! It really doesn't suffocate him I promise!
Mickey Mouse Day
Today was a day full of projects to do at home. 50+ invitations to make, wood floors to be cleaned and polished, and the glamorous job of laundry and dishes. So to make our day a little more fun, my boys and I decided to make it a Mickey Mouse Day! This is more for Hayden. He loves watching the classic Mickey toons and I will completely admit I do too! I love all the Disney Movies and try to collect them more for myself then for my boys which explains why we have Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, and other girly Disney DVDs.
It was fun to see Clayton get into our themed day to. Clay is all about the Super Heroes!! Superman, Spider man, Batman, Flash,Iron Man, Star Wars, Transformers, basically any overly tough good guy, except for Thor. Clayton says "I don't really like him, His hair is too long and that's too much like a girl!" I can't really argue with that!
Activities for the day:
1. Sing and dance silly with Mickey Mouse CD. The boys are hilarious dancing, they do little posses and everything right along with the music.
2. Pancakes for lunch, shaped like Mickey/Snowmen. Clay liked cutting Mickey up into pieces. I think that was the best mickey pancake I have ever done!
We had a fun morning and afternoon. I was glad it was Mickey today, because I played Captain Fay last week ordering my little buccaneers around to search for hidden treasure, warning them to be nice or I would make them walk the plank. I was too good of a actor and lost my voice! Too many Arrghs ya matey I guess! ;)
