Guy from the Airport?

-Guy from the airport???

Funniest backstory ever! So remember how I was moved from coach into first class and was literally flying up in the clouds happy. The story continues down in baggage claim. I was waiting for my bag to arrive around the carousel and a guy who was by me walked past me and I stepped aside feeling I was kind of in his way, he grabbed his bag and turned and looked straight at me and said "excuse me I'm sorry I don't mean anything by it but I just really wanted to tell you that you are gorgeous. I mean you are really really pretty....your eyes are amazing and you have such a symmetrical face...don't mean to bother you but I really felt like I needed to tell you that." Umm totally flattered and taken back by his comments. Said thankyou and that he was really kind and he went in his way while I waited for my bags still. My bag arrived and I headed out the door to meet Nate at the side of the curb and told nate I was at 3F that he could pick me up there and lo and behold I'm standing next to the same guy!!! I'm still talking on the phone and as soon as I ended he came up to me again and said "I'm sorry about before, but it's true you are beautiful and I felt compelled to talk to you and tell you that" We shook hands and I gave my thanks again and he was off to his cab! I was totally shocked about the whole scenario! Told Nate the whole story while driving home and we had a good laugh!! Needless to say my husband listens to me when we talk... Or has a bit of jealous streak in him ;)....But I found his note on the beautiful flowers he sent so funny!! I love my man!! Making me smile in so many ways!! #foreverandalways #myhubby #heknowshesfunny #idoloveflowers #akeeperforsure

Fun with Boys

April 2013
Boys will always need a fort to play in!!
 Roman in his Sunday Best
A funny text picture I teased Nate with when I went out shopping!

Can never go wrong with Hot Wheels with boys!  They can't get enough of them!  I'm pretty sure they run better with baby slobber anyway!
Justin taking a swing with his little bud Roman, soaking up some sun together!

My oldest, next to my youngest!

Love this man, who surprised me with flowers when he came home from work.  Just because he knew I had a bad day!  It's the little things sometimes!

Hearts

HEARTS
February 2013
Justin is my little helper during the day. He has such a sense of humor, and he knows it!

Justin and I wanted to surprise Clay and Hayden with heart sugar cookies for when they came home from school.  Justin makes the cutest chef ever!  Justin has been telling everyone where his heart  is lately, ever since Clay showed him his homework with pictures of the organs inside our bodies.  Clay's class is studying the human body right now.  We were all done making the sugar cookie dough and were about to start rolling it out and using the heart cookie cutter when I said, "OK, Justin we get to cut out the hearts now!" Justin turned, grabbed the left side of his chest, and said in a shocked tone, "Mom, we can't cut out my heart, I need it!  How would I live?"  Could not stop laughing!!  "Justin don't be silly, we are using this cookie cutter to make heart shapes.  See?"  I said while holding the cookie cutter up.  "Oh, right we are making heart shapes"  Then he grabbed the cutter and placed it over his heart giving his own melt your heart smile to me!

Roman Paul Cottrell
6 months old
February 2013

Roman was so fun to take pictures of!!  Such a smiley, happy boy I have.  It was fun having him turn six months old in the month of February so we could do some fun LOVE shots!!  Such a little charmer!
This last Saturday Nathan had a big mid-term test in one of his MBA classes. He studied all day Friday for it and like everyone is with test was not looking for to taking it. The test was the first 90 minutes of class and immediately following the test had the rest of the 90 min. for more lectures. And then he still had to attend the other three hour class for the day. Not to mention all these classes are in Downtown so he leaves the house at 6 in the morning and doesn't come home till after 6 at night.

And what did he surprise ME with when he came home??

These beauties!! Flowers from your man are the best!

I love surprises and Nate was so thoughtful with these. He said he knew I was trying to decorate for a get together and thought I might like some more fall colors to use!! And no he did nothing wrong to have to get these for me, he just did, without being asked to which makes them that much more great! Thanks Babe loved them and you!

8 years ago TODAY!

Eight years ago today Nathan and I were married in the Idaho Falls Temple. To celebrate our anniversary we bought new GPS systems to put in each of our cars. To put them to good use we took a drive to Lake Geneva Wisconsin to do some site seeing. I love going for drives in the countrysides and towns to see different types of properties, businesses, and homes each one with their own style to landscaping, design, and use of the grounds located within their property boundaries. We found a big farm stand on the way around the lake that had a really fun hay/straw bale maze for kids to play on. We took our time going in and out of side roads, subdivisions, and scenic routes. Down Main street there are tons of little shops and attractions that you could spend all day at. To the relief of Nate, we wanted to just continue on our site seeing trip. We ended the day off with an ice cream treat at an all too expensive ice cream parlor but it's fun to splurge a little to make it special.
There are so many adjectives I could use to describe how great Nathan is to me as a husband and a father to our children. The one that does stand out is Consistent.

Nathan is consistent in his:

Work----Church callings----studies (spiritual and for school)----love for me----love for his kids---providing for his family----wanting and striving to always do what is right----an anchor and support to me----friendship----eternal companion etc etc etc I am truly blessed to have Nathan as my best friend and husband. Together we are going to be a consistently strong couple day after day!!! I love ya Nate!!!

Golden Seven on September 7th

Nathan and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary on Sunday September 7th. Wow SEVEN years I can't believe it!! When I look back and see all the different things we have accomplished and goals we set, strived for, and then achieve, it's a great feeling! I am so happy to have made so many of those goals with my husband Nathan. He is my main support through everything! I know without a doubt there hasn't been a single thing that has come our way that we didn't decide what is best for us as a couple or family and set certain goals for ourselves TOGETHER. Things that have been big changes in the last seven years are:

1. Being married!!
2. Nathan graduating from BYU 2001
3. Moving to Illinois 2002
4. Buying our 2bath/2bed condo 2003
5. Baby Clayton Dec 2003
6. Nate changing jobs from Walgreen's corp to Freedom Roads/Camping world
7. Baby Hayden Jan 2006
8. Lacey's Crazy middle of the night EVERY night newspaper job!! WOW that was some good money!
9. Sold condo and bought our new 3bed 2 1/2 bath house!!! 2007
10. Nathan taking GMAT and scoring above 97% of everyone who even takes the test!! WOW
11. New baby due end of January 2009

Whoa that's alot and looks like a crazy summary to me!

I feel so blessed to be where I am and married to my husband. I am well taken care of and loved what more could I want or need!!

Thanks DAD

It is very hard to sit here and think of the perfect way to describe my Dad and the things he has done for me. If I were to put it in list form it definitely be WAY TOO LONG and if it was put into a poem my Dad would probably be too embarrassed and think that I was cheesy, beside that fact that I can't write poems. So in a way I can express that MY DAD IS THE BEST here goes.

Dad is all about family and does what ever he can in his power to make sure everyone has a good time and get to experience new things. There are countless trips that we went on and still do with our family. There was always some fun exhibit or adventure that Dad made sure we had our turn experiencing. He is a very generous, caring person and doesn't think he is too important to help out watching kids or doing the little things in life. He always sees the best and bright sides of any giving situation and will point out little facts about nature or trivia to all his grand kids and they all marvel at his knowledge and abilities.

Having both sides of my extended family live within ten minutes of each we were very fortunate to get together on numerous occasions. But since we did get together so often there would be times when us bratty kids or stubborn teenagers would be sulking being consumed in our own self pity to be very good host to family that came by. Bad manners were something Dad wouldn't let slide. I can hear him say "Buck up, get over yourself and be part of the family!" And of course making sure to make our own statement we would drag our feet and act so put upon by being talked to. But in reality when we did "Get over ourselves" we always had a great time, and who wouldn't want to spend time with all of my family, they are awesome. I blame those times on again bratty kids and stubborn teenage years.

My dad is the hardest worker I know. Being a farmer and rancher he is one of those manly men who do tons of physical work and has to fight against weather all the time. Some of his contenders have been: Raging wind, Snow storms, freezing temps, rain/dust storms, flooding, draught, hail and many other crazy Idaho weather schemes that come his way. But still he wakes up with the sun, whistling down the hall and making the most of his day. A favorite memory of him is when he would come running in my bedroom, jump on top of me and say "Rise and shine, it's time to get up" and this is after he has already been outside and is done feeding all the cattle and checked water. He has shown me the value of good hard work and to put yourself to the task no matter what the circumstances are.

DAD is very conscience of the people around him and their needs. In the winter time when all the snow is drifted over the road and kids have the day out of school he is in his tractor plowing out driveways of everyone on his road and many more people in the ward. He has giving much of his own time and resources to help family and those in need and it is usually done by some sort of manually labor on his part.

My Dad has taught me to put yourself aside and do things for others. He is always in the service of others and many look to him for council and guidance. I am always reminded of him when I sing "Put your shoulder to the wheel push along."

Thanks Dad for your great example and doing the things that count in life. I love you and hope I can make you as proud of me and my family as I am to be your daughter!! Love your Lacey Fay

A Date With a Bull!!

NATE AND ME

L. James trying to get more points

Michael Jordan You really can't argue - - - - the man is a legend!!! Nathan and I were out for the night cruising into downtown Chicago to have our own adult date night !! We go out alot with our two boys to dinner, movies, shopping, or whatever fancies us at the time especially when our boys are really good for us where ever we go. But, this time it was a turn for Just Us, and what better way to go than a Bulls Vs Cavs game at the United Center!! We had such good seats (like row 7 from the floor) and even though the Bulls are not in the playoffs this year they put on an awesome show last night! There had to be at least 5 HUGE DUNKS that the crowd (and us) went wild over!! Lebron James was awesome as always and seemed really big in person, I tend to like an assortment of talented players than any one set team so when the playoffs are on they will be fun to watch.

Am I ready yet??

Awesome Jump!

You can't beat BENNY THE BULL

He's such a great dancer!!

Nate was trying to score a free t shirt from the flying Bull but alas a no t-shirt wanted to fly our way!!!
Half time was BMX Jumpers on ramps and those guys were really talented, we gave them lots of cheers for all their hard work. The Bulls won 100-95 the last point was a big one for the whole crowd because everyone there could get a FREE BIG MAC if the BULLS hit 100 points and they left us hanging until those last 20 seconds to see if they could pull it off or not. It was fun to get out and have a fun night out with Nathan knowing our boys were having a blast at home with Nathan's parents. Movie night watching "Willow" chowing on pop and popcorn! Nathan's parents are moving to New Orleans soon and I know my boys will miss them, but it will be fun going to see them for visits.
